## About the role As a Senior Java Developer, you will help build reliable, scalable software that directly supports the quality and continuity of digital services. You will work on sophisticated backend solutions, contribute to technical decision-making, and help the team deliver resilient systems. This is a hands-on senior role that combines development with ownership in collaboration, quality, and technical direction. In this part-time position, you will make an impact on architecture, performance, and maintainability while supporting the growth of other developers. ## What we offer - A salary indication aligned with seniority and part-time commitment; competitive employment conditions - A flexible part-time workweek of 32 hours - Space for professional development and knowledge sharing - A challenging environment with complex technical questions - Competitive benefits package ## Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend functionality in Java, with a strong focus on scalability and reliability - Translate functional needs into technical solutions and safeguard technical quality - Improve the performance, security, and maintainability of existing applications - Work closely with product, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and with care - Review colleagues’ code and coach team members on best practices - Identify technical risks and actively contribute to architectural decisions ## Requirements - At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar backend role - Solid knowledge of Java and common backend principles - Experience with REST APIs, data modelling, and relational databases - Familiarity with software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices - Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written - HBO or WO level of thinking, preferably in computer science or a similar field ## Nice to have - Experience with Spring Boot - Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - Experience with microservices architectures - Knowledge of containerisation with Docker or Kubernetes - Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
